How Bundesliga clubs have handled "dangerous" international duty
Bundesliga clubs have had to tread a careful path in dealing with the upcoming international break. A few players had been blocked from entering risk areas, as football continues almost unabated during a global pandemic.
Poland's Robert Lewandowski has been given the green light to represent his national team.
As coronavirus cases surge across most of Europe, and with vaccine rollouts still lumbering along, football's privileged status has remained intact.
A number of players appeared set to miss out on World Cup qualifiers during the upcoming international break, however government restrictions have successfully been bypassed.

Schalke ended a horrible 2020 rock bottom of the Bundesliga table having won only one league game all year. They have now appointed their fourth coach of the season in Christian Gross with the sole aim of avoiding relegation.
bundesliga.com has five reasons why the Royal Blues will avoid the Bundesliga trapdoor…
1) A new start under Gross
Gross, 66, follows David Wagner, Manuel Baum and caretaker boss Huub Stevens as the man charged with getting Schalke their first Bundesliga victory since 17 January 2020. Since then, the club has gone 29 matches without three points and is now only two games short of equalling the league’s longest unbeaten run of 31 set by Tasmania Berlin in 1965/66.

Barça in the Champions League | Official website FC Barcelona

Barça’s record in the UEFA Champions League
How many times have Barça won the Champions League?
Barça’s record in the Champions League is one of the best in all of Europe. Currently, Barça have won the competition on five occasions, a total that puts the blaugranes amongst the most successful clubs in the tournament with the Catalan club involved in several of the most memorable matches in the competition’s history.
The first success as long in the making as it was until 1992, a time when the competition was still known as the UEFA European Cup, that FC Barcelona claimed their first victory in the competition on a magical evening at Wembley Stadium in London. Since then, however, Barça have a tremendous record in the tournament having won it on no less than four more occasions in the 21st century (2006, 2009, 2011, 2015), thanks to a unique generation of players headed by Leo Messi.

Bundesliga | Arminia Bielefeld vs. Bayer Leverkusen: probable line-ups, match stats and LIVE blog!

The two sides came into this meeting on completely opposing trajectories: Bielefeld had lost five Bundesliga games in a row, while Leverkusen had won four on the bounce. The early exchanges reflected the balance of form, with the visitors stroking the ball around confidently and going close to an opener on 15 minutes, when Moussa Diaby's rasping effort forced a smart save from Stefan Ortega. Peter Bosz's men continued to pour forward and eventually took a deserved lead, as Leon Bailey played a delightful one-two with Florian Wirtz before firing into the roof of the net with his weaker right foot. Bielefeld wanted a penalty when Ritsu Doan went down in the area on the half-hour mark, but referee Felix Brych was unmoved – and in the end, the off-colour hosts failed to even muster a single shot on goal by half-time.
