Two Coffee High School graduates, Anna Scott and Anna Unger, were recently named champions of the National High Plains Intercollegiate Meat Judging Contest as a coach and team members of the University of Georgia's team.
The contest was held in Friona, Texas, on October 30, with over 120 students competing in two divisions. Following the day-long event, winners of each category were announced during a banquet hosted at the Hereford Civic Center.

Trooper Myrick’s family, DPS Director Steven McCraw, DPS Regional Director Joe Longway, DPS leadership and fellow Troopers were in attendance along with the Texas Department of Transportation (TXDOT), area law enforcement, county and city officials at the ceremony at the Hereford Civic Center.

Trooper Myrick died in a crash while in the line of duty in January of 2006. The ceremony will be held on Thursday, April 8 at 10:00 a.m. at the Hereford Civic Center. Trooper Myrick’s family, DPS leadership, fellow troopers, area law enforcement and more will be at the ceremony.
