It is my third of these and a great delight to moderate a panel with such esteemed unfamiliar speakers. Twoink you know our speakers very well. I will keep the introductions brief for both of them. First, going in the order of presentation first, james , holland. Historian, writer, and broadcaster. We have seen him on countless tv shows and documentaries. Hes led many of our tours here at the museum. There are too many books i would take 10 minutes going through all of his books. Mr. Gruen i was born on november 21, 1922 in waldorf, germany. Interviewer where is that . Mr. Gruen waldorf is a small village near the town of [indiscernible] which is near the betterknown weimar. Town of weimar. That is just south. Interviewer what was your childhood like . Mr. Gruen my childhood was very, very pleasant. My father was the principal of a school. My mother and my father had a devoted marriage. I had one brother older than i. And i grew up in that village. Went to Primary School there. And and did all the things that small children, little boys do, including using a roller skate on a steep hill and scaring my mother out of her skull with my derrin ....
