The agreement paves the way for the establishment of a Joint Industry Project (JIP) that targets the development of new LNG carrier designs utilizing the LNT A-BOX® LNG cargo containment system. Other signatories to the Agreement include Qatargas and affiliates of ConocoPhillips, ExxonMobil, Shell and Total.

The agreement can also be applied for the UK continental shelf. Under the frame agreement, Shearwater has been awarded an initial survey over the Heidrun Field in the Norwegian North Sea. Shearwater will allocate one of its high-end Isometrix vessels for the one-month Heidrun survey, which starts in Q2 2021. The award adds to a growing worldwide 4D order book and supports the companys framework for optimizing vessel utilization.

This is a move to further expand the outreach of its maritime LNG offering. Gasum is pursuing a strategy of expanding the geographic outreach and quality of its maritime liquefied natural gas (LNG) offering. The company seeks to further improve the service to its shipping customers. As part of this strategy, Gasum has now obtained a license to deliver maritime LNG in France, allowing it to add French ports and waters to its supply network.

The remaining 50% of the interests will be purchased by Cheirons strategic partner, Cairn Energy plc, a new entrant into the Egyptian upstream sector. Cheiron will operate the production and development concessions in the asset portfolio, using the experience gained over three decades of improving safety, production, reserves and cost management performance in its Egyptian fields. These are located onshore in the Western Desert and Nile Delta, and offshore in the Gulf of Suez and Mediterranean Sea. Cairn, a UK listed company with significant international experience and exploration expertise, will operate three of the exploration licenses. The field activities will continue to be managed by the Bapetco Joint Operating Company.
