A.I. Artificial Intelligence - Steven Spielberg’s vision of a Stanley Kubrick story is about a young robot who attempts to find his place in the world. It’s a gorgeous, introspective film that will stay with you long after it ends.
The Adventuers of Tintin - More Spielberg. This time, an adaptation of the old school comic, with high-end motion capture effects and the help of producer Peter Jackson. If you can get past the unique effects, it’s a rewarding, rousing adventure.

Beowulf - Speaking of weird animation, Robert Zemeckis’ retelling of the epic poem certainly loses some of its magic thanks to its now quite dated attempt at performance capture. But beyond that, it’s a hugely epic, exciting film.

There are many launch events taking place and we can expect to see many players dressing up for the occasion. The Fast & Furious finally runs out of road after an 11th movie in 2023, Universal Pictures has confirmed.
But first, the antepenultimate instalment in the tyre-shredding series, which first revved up in 2001, sees Dom (Vin Diesel) get the gang back together to facedown a new foe - his bro Jakob (John Cena).
Number nine is due to hit big screens here on May 28, provided Covid doesn't pump the brakes.

The Roses are then forced to live in a run-down motel in their one remaining asset that was bought as a joke, the folksy town of Schitt’s Creek.
Lovers of wry comedy can binge-watch the entire six-season run of the show, all 80 episodes, on 15 DVD discs that feature top-notch performances from the main cast as well as veterans such as Chris Elliot as Mayor Roland Schitt, Jennifer Roberson as his wife Jocelyn and Emily Hampshire as the motel owner Stevie Budd.
Beside creators not allowing the season to have a seventh season, the only other miscue is Lionsgate releasing the series on the woefully inadequate DVD format when a classic of this magnitude deserves a high definition release at the bare minimum.

Review: 'Mission: Impossible' sparks excitement at Lakes 12 Theatre
“Mission: Impossible” revives a classic TV series with a feature film adaptation in 1996. The action-spy movie franchise shows no signs of slowing down with five sequels in its nearly 25-year history, and it recently resumed production on a sixth with star Tom Cruise after the coronavirus pandemic forced a temporary hiatus.

Experts agree that the first feature-length film the world ever saw was "The Story of the Kelly Gang" which opened in Melbourne, Australia, in 1906. There's no general consensus, however, about what the first film franchise was. Possibly "Bulldog Drummond," or "The Lone Wolf," or maybe "Godzilla?"
Regardless of where you stand on the first franchise debate, basically everyone can agree on this: studios love nothing more than to turn a hit film into a full-blown series. It turns out, there's good reason for this franchise affinity. Joe Pasqualichio, an analyst at Citadel, explained it simply, saying: "Box office flops are going to come up from time to time, but your big bets, and especially the ones with IP backing them, should be enough to cover them. And that's why you're seeing studios move towards IP and franchise films...Today, more than ever we're seeing this blockbuster strategy at studios where they rely on really big, tent-pole films-like the 'Star Wars' movies-to generate sufficient profits that cover all of the misses and make the overall slate profitable." In the end, it all comes down to money.

The 20 Best Action Movies of The 1990s

10. The Rock
Michael Bay is certainly a divisive filmmaker, but he’s unquestionably one of the most influential forces in shaping what action movies are today, for better or worse. Few would argue with the assertion that The Rock is Bay’s best film; it contains all of the adolescent qualities that Bay is known for, namely a lot of explosions, car chases, and wacky soundtrack choices, but he shows a greater emphasis on character than he would in any of his later efforts, and charismatic performances from Sean Connery and Nicolas Cage elevate the simplicity of the writing.
Bay’s later films, specifically the Transformers films, would become extremely convoluted and nonsensical, but The Rock’s story is quite simple and straightforward. A celebration of excess and absurdity, The Rock is Bay in his element.
