Sen. Ed McBroom, chair of the Senate Oversight Committee, told The Center Square in an email that private interference with elections is a “serious concern.”

BID discusses budgeting, involvement in comprehensive plan

The Fremont Business Improvement District Board discussed its budgeting for the rest of the year and its involvement in Fremont’s comprehensive plan at its meeting Tuesday afternoon.
Chairman Tom Coday said along with the other two recently elected members of the Future Projects Committee, Jerry Johnson and Brendan Murray, they would develop a five-year budget for the board.
As BID prepares for its appeal for another term this November, Coday said he was looking for issues its members had been seeing, such as one-way streets, parking or drainage.
“I did get a response from Ginger [Rosenthal] and Vince [O’Connor], but I’d like if the rest of you guys could just send me a couple of things you’re concerned about in the downtown,” he said. ....

Minnesota Gov. Walz in quarantine until March 25 after possible COVID-19 exposure


(The Center Square) – Gov. Tim Walz will quarantine after possible exposure to COVID-19 on Monday, his office announced Wednesday.
Walz’s spokesperson Teddy Tschann said a Walz staff member tested positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday morning after a Tuesday test.
Walz, Lieutenant Gov. Peggy Flanagan, and Minnesota Department of Health Commissioner Jan Malcolm weren’t within six feet of the staff member for more than 15 minutes in the same news conference room on Monday but agreed to quarantine anyway.
Tschann said Walz, Lieutenant Governor Peggy Flanagan, and Minnesota Department of Health Commissioner Jan Malcolm will quarantine for 10 days since exposure through March 25. ....
