Rivers Crisis: Court Restrains Wike's Loyalist, Amaewhule From Interfering, Disrupting Ehie's Duties As State Assembly Speaker

The Rivers State High Court sitting in Port Harcourt and presided over by Justice D.M. Danagogo, has restrained Martin Amaewhule, loyal to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, from interfering and disrupting the activities of Rivers State House of Assembly Speaker, Edison Ehie, from carrying out his legislative functions. Ehie is loyal to Governor Siminalayi Fubara, who is at loggerheads with Wike, his godfather and immediate former governor.

Nepal makes history with first registration of same-sex marriage

Nepal registered its first same-sex marriage on Wednesday. How it happened: Surendra Pandey, 26, and Maya Gurung, 36, registered their marriage at the municipal office of Dordi in the Lamjung district. Pandey was born and identifies as male, while Gurung was born male and identifies as female, according to Reuters.

Nepal registers first same-sex marriage; 'historic', say activists

Local authorities in a village in Nepal registered the Himalayan nation's first same-sex marriage on Wednesday, officials and activists said, five months after the Supreme Court issued an interim order clearing the way for such marriages in the largely conservative country. The marriage between 36-year-old Ram Bahadur (Maya) Gurung, who was born male but identifies as female, and Surendra Pandey, 26, who was born and identifies as male, was formally registered at the Dordi rural municipality office in the Lumjung district in west Nepal, an official said.
