No discussion of Cleveland's punk scene would be complete without a chapter on Peter Laughner, who helped start half a dozen bands, including Rocket from the Tombs and Pere Ubu. And yet, Laughner, who died at age 24, has not received that chapter, really, until now. A new 5-disc box set retrospective by Smog Veil Records has been released, an event that sent PKM's Todd McGovern in search of the Peter Laughner chapter, using the voices of many who knew Peter well, including Cheetah Chrome, Miriam Linna, Robert Kidney, Anton Fier, David Thomas, and others.

Though the Ramones exhibition at the Queens Museum in 2016 gained Marc Miller a wider audience, he was instrumental in framing the punk scene as an total art movement, organizing a seminal Punk Art Show in Washington D.C. in 1978, then salvaging, storing and cataloging essential punk artifacts at his 98 Bowery loft, which became Gallery 98. Eric Davidson joins Miller on a conversational tour through his amazing career in art.

Yuguchi is from Japan but came to America hoping to learn more about the blues. He finally settled in Chicago in the late 1980s. "I stopped by the record store. There’s a blues sign so I went like, 'what is that type of music?'" he said. "So I just picked up one of the records; there’s a Black man with a harmonica." He has been playing the harmonica ever since and said it's not easy. "I don’t know how to read it," Yuguchi said. "I don’t know how to write it. I just play by ears."
