Spectators will be watching from the grandstands at the next two grands prix in Spain and Monaco.
The Circuit de Catalunya, scene of this weekend's race in Barcelona, announced that although the general public will not be allowed access, plans have been drawn up for a crowd of 1000 people on Sunday.
"The attendees will be circuit members, who will be able to enjoy the grand prix from the main grandstand of the circuit," the track confirmed.
"We are very satisfied to be able to make the first step towards a gradual opening of our facilities, even if at this time it will only be a small number," said general manager Josep Lluis Santamaria.

Barcelona Circuit will allow 1,000 members to attend

Spanish Grand Prix organisers confirmed they will allow 1,000 circuit members to attend the Formula 1 race after local COVID-19 regulations are eased this week.
The 9 May 9 race is the fourth round of the world championship season and a home grand prix for Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz and Alpine’s double world champion Fernando Alonso.
Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya management announced last month that the race would be behind closed doors due to the pandemic, but said on Monday that outdoor events in the region will now be allowed a maximum of 1,000 people with allocated seats.
The circuit has far more than 1,000 members so those attending will be chosen at random by draw, enabling the lucky ones to attend the race on Sunday.

Barcelona circuit boss Josep Lluis Santamaria is hoping to welcome spectators to the Spanish GP on 9 May.
The Circuit de Catalunya has confirmed that half-price tickets are going on sale next week, with grandstand seats to be socially-distanced amid the covid crisis and total capacity limited to 50 percent.
"People want to return to normalcy and so we have decided to open the stands with security guarantees," Santamaria told Diario Sport newspaper.
"Many measures will also have to be taken with regard to access and parking.

Spanish GP host Barcelona will sign a one-year contract extension for 2021 and then discuss the longer-term future with new F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali.
On the official 2021 calendar, the Circuit de Catalunya's 9 May race date has been given provisional status 'subject to contract'.
One of the issues was management turmoil at the Spanish GP host.
"At this year's grand prix we met Chase Carey to introduce ourselves and make the first contact," new circuit boss Josep Lluis Santamaria told El Mundo Deportivo.
"From there we began to work on the extension. F1 asked us to calm down and told us that in September-October the 2021 calendar would be considered. We have already defined the contract and in principle it will be an extension of one year," he revealed.
