The Supreme Court has ordered an enquiry into an allegation that the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT) delivered an order without following the top court s directions. The order relates to the annual general meeting of Finolex Cables and a legal dispute over the management control of the company. The NCLAT was directed by the Supreme Court to declare the results of the meeting only after receiving the scrutiniser s report. However, the NCLAT pronounced the order before the report was uploaded, leading to accusations of defiance of the Supreme Court s order.
