Year that tonight was the deadline and they just blew it. The deadline to prevent that massive 600 billion combination of tax hikes and spending cuts will be missed. But the scramble continues. To try to get a deal done and passed over the next day or two, that would put the tax cuts, at least, back in place retro actively. And today, they sure seemed close to a deal. I can report that weve reached an agreement on all of the tax the tax issue. Reporter and even though the deal was not finalized, the president seemed to take a victory lap today at the white house. Keep in mind that just last month republicans in Congress Said they would never agree to raise tax rates on the wealthiest americans. Obviously, the agreement thats currently being discussed would raise those rates and raise them permanently. Reporter it was a campaignstyle event. Im going to be president for the next four years, i hope. So [ applause ] reporter that alien ....

Routine scan after her concussion and they ll be treating her now with blood thinners. it s a fine balance to keep her blood thin enough so the clot goes away. they say the prognosis for her is excellent. dr. richard besser, abc news, new york. and abc news medical unit said it s a very unusual complication from the concussion which was suffered a couple years ago, the blood clot. it s so rare, the new england journal of medicine estimates there are only four cases per 1 million people each year in the u.s. and she was one of them. thank goodness for that routine mri. it was anything but routine. hundreds of american families blocked from adopting children from russia by a new law there have some new allies. an outpouring support from inside russia is giving some families hope. we have the report from moscow. reporter: kendra skaggs and her husband were just weeks away from bringing home their adopted ....
