POST TIME: Glades a trove of colorful place names Readers: Happy New Year! Allen Morris and Joan Perry Morris comprised one of Florida s history power couples. Both were mentors for this writer. Allen (1909–2002), longtime clerk of the Florida House of Representatives, founded the Florida Handbook in 1947 and the Florida Photo Archives in 1951. Joan (1935-2016) edited or co-edited the handbook and spent four decades as curator of the photo archives. The two are authors of Florida Place Names,“ packed with name origins. Sounds like a column!
