Mitt Romney honored Orrin Hatch in a speech on the Senate floor on Wednesday, calling the late senator a “lion of the Senate.” Hatch was the longest serving Republican in the Senate in U.S. history, and the longest from Utah. Hatch died on Saturday at the age of 88. Romney spoke highly of Hatch’s willingness to put friendship above politics, telling of Hatch’s longstanding friendship with Massachusetts Democrat Sen.
