A few weeks back, I wrote about the changing language and our changes in word usage. I asked for your pet peeves and I got an earful. Here is a sampling:
Reader: I enjoyed reading your column on language usage, change and how journalism reflects that. One of my pet peeves is the use of the phrase “commit suicide.” I hope your guide and style guides everywhere eschew this judgmental usage that condemns those souls so lost that they choose to end it all. – Margaret
