YOUNGSTOWN — Larry Ellis, president of the Youngstown Education Association, is resigning, effective May 31, after an audit of the teachers’ union’s financials found issues. “This audit was initiated after YEA’s treasurer discovered some discrepancies that appear to be the result of a failure to follow the appropriate accounting procedures for expenditures related to the execution of Larry Ellis’ regular duties as YEA president,” the union wrote in a prepared statement.
