Thunder Force (2021)
Melissa McCarthy and Octavia Spencer star in Netflix’s new action/comedy. In a world where supervillains are commonplace, two estranged childhood best friends reunite after one devises a treatment that gives them powers to protect their city. It also stars Jason Bateman, Bobby Cannavale, Pom Klementieff and Melissa Leo. It’s directed by Ben Falcone, McCarthy’s husband and frequent collaborator. (April 9)

Spring is upon us (took long enough)! And with it, the arrival of several new things, like new wardrobes (break out the light jackets), new recipes (refreshing cocktails for the win), and, of course, new Netflix material.
Several new releases are making their way to the streaming service this April. One of the most anticipated releases of the line-up is “Shadow and Bone,” the Netflix adaptation of the first book from the Grishaverse, part of Leigh Bardugo’s popular book series. But that won’t be out till near the end of the month, along with “Yasuke,” an anime series telling the story of the titular African samurai who served in Japan in the late 16th century.
