Oldham Council and local GPs decided vulnerable homeless people should be in a priority group for the jab.

Government figures released this afternoon showed that 223,726 inoculations were carried out yesterday, up from 165,844 on Monday, the first day for which the daily information was available.

A clinic was organised at a shelter for the homeless in Oldham, Greater Manchester, where around 30 people were given the jab - with more planned - following the decision from the local council and GPs.
