Jail out of the jail. that is correct. how did you do that? well, dr. king was arrested on april 14th. it may have been easter sunday 1963. being his lawyer and i was from new york. the other lawyer who could go in to see him was off the shores, a local lawyer. he was not in town. i was his so-called new york lawyer. so i was able to go in to see him. going through the birmingham jail, the parents of young teenagers were yelling at me, lawyer jones, attorney jones, you tell dr. king you got to get our kids out of jail. bail money, bail money. so i go in to see martin, dr. king, and i said, martin, we ve got a real problem. and i says and i said, i said, martin, are you paying ....
