In the essay accompanying the exhibition, Los Angeles gallerist and art critic Mat Gleason states, The form and texture crystalize temporal states, giving Korzens work an effervescent quality, like a millisecond of time captured in amber and on display unchanged for a billion years. Korzen, celebrated for his Academy Award winning production of the 1988 Best Foreign Film Oscar winner Babettes Feast, grew up in Copenhagen. In 1964 he moved to New York and now lives in Los Angeles with his wife, actress Annie Korzen, where he continues to paint and work on films.
