Luckily there brain drain to this time but with every drop this morning there was worried. And fear that the drainage system would not keep up. Many residents lost sleep over it. I am so relieved. I even got up early this morning to see how bad it was. Was up at about 2 00 in the morning just making sure. That is because their basement is newly repaired from getting flooded out two weeks ago. But nearly half a foot of water ruined a computer and the flooring dow was back on august 22nd when a similar strong bursts storm caused this. A severe flash flooding which even track to them and many residents in their homes. This time there is lighter and slower precipitation so lot less homeowner pain from the rain. Was not olive one time the rain. Last time we got like 3 in. In one hour. That was a lot. Despite no flooding here today many residents still plan to attend a burbank Board Meeting tonight to sound off about persistent flash flooding problems around here. Many are always worried abo
Flooding early on. Some areas have seen very healthy rain. Over half an inch. As you continue to look to the south, and we have the line of moderate to heavy rain. Some indebted to thunderstorms. We have the influx of a twister coming in from the south and west. We think the entire viewing area will bring one2 in. Of rain. Some areas will get more. 3 in. And hopefully not. Potentially more. Now were looking to the northern and western communities. Points to the south and east the heaviest rain is this morning until rush hour. Then that rain will shift to the south. To the south were getting pretty good right down into a south county and you could see this line moving to the north and east. There will be some pulling and pondering early on. As you look across the region, with a low pressure system centered across the extreme north and iowa. A cold front stretches across missouri and through kansas. That will lift through the region it will pass through until 7 00 a. M. But had of that w

While were on the subject of Public Safety, im once again asking this legislature to repeal the dangerous law that gives drivers licenses to illegal immigrants. [ applause ] weve seen several fraud operations busted recently. Just last year, an elaborate scheme was uncovered in eastern new mexico where hundreds of drivers licenses were sold to illegal immigrants. The ringleader bragged that he made 30,000 a month. Ive put forward a strong compromise to repeal this law and still allow driving privileges for dreamers. Its time to act. The legislature should do what the overwhelming majority of new mexicans are demanding repeal this dangerous law. [ applause ] in addition to asking whether the state is safe, businesses often want to know will they be given a fair shake by those in government . Not special treatment, just a fair shake. Weve taken some important steps, but can do even more. Just as ive prohibited my appointees from lobbying the legislature or the administration after leavin
Challenging i would like to talk about the governors house this program build Affordable Homes using labor from the prison the inmates gained pliable skills for when they leave prison and they help those to have an opportunity to own their home i ask the department of corrections to explore the options to make the governors house more efficient they had to meet a prototype that passed the passive house standard that requires heavy insulation and it airtight around the house high the efficient windows in the Energy Recovery air exchanger. And then have period the utility bills enough heat to provide survivability even extreme cold weather without power. The demonstration house was built in a few months applying techniques that builders have learned only that year but in spite of these it met the passive house standard it was put on display at the state fair to educate their doors about cutting edge technology. Building every governors house has tough standards we make it too expensive.
