Why I started rowing again at age 42

It’s a freezing cold (literally, 1C) Saturday in mid-October and I’m stepping gingerly into a narrow, hard seated, wobbly vessel on the river at 8am, blowing desperately on my fingers to keep them warm and wondering exactly what I’m doing.

While rewilding is important, the food we eat is even more so, and we need to grow as much as we can to be self-sufficient and not rely on importing from elsewhere – with the consequent effects on the environment. Farmers in this country need our support. Sue Wakelin Woolton Hill, Hampshire
