(TNS) Kentucky State University has been given a “warning” status by the accrediting body for universities in the region for failing to meet standards related to university finances and governance.
KSU self-reported the findings of the special examination from the state auditor’s office to its accreditation body earlier this year. As a result, the university has been placed on “warning” status.
Memos from the Departments of Education and Agriculture found that states have underfunded historically Black land-grant colleges and universities in the last 30 years by hundreds of millions of dollars.
