A dozen students from three local schools have earned All-State nominations for their performances during the Iowa High School Speech Association (IHSSA) state individual event contest. To be eligible for the recognition, individuals must be identified by at least two judges for their outstanding presentation. After all, ASA has presented Christmas concerts ever since the program started 20 years ago. Well, Christmas music wishes will be coming true this year, too. Brainstorming by All Strings’ advisory group produced plans for a virtual recording featuring small ensembles performing on the Carroll Recreation Center theater stage.   Carroll wanted to work on coming out with quicker starts after slow starts in several games this season and they did that on Friday. The Tigers jumped ahead 20-0 with just over a minute left in the 1 st quarter before Perry scored. The defense pressure led to several run outs and easy layups and the Tigers moved the ball well in the half court and were able to Ella Collison, Kennedy Lein and Camryn Schable going on offense.
