On Dec. 22, 2019, seven major contributors to athletics in our state were introduced as the New Mexico Sports Hall of Fame’s 2020 induction class.
On Aug. 15, some 20 months and a pandemic later, they’ll finally be presented to the public at the NMSHOF’s annual banquet.

Not much was truly annual last year – the banquet was originally scheduled for April 2020, and the Hall of Fame opted not to name a class of 2021 – but the Aug. 15 event does reflect a certain return to normalcy.
To compare NMSHOF classes would be next to impossible and probably unfair. Still, the collective stature of these seven inductees clearly would rank at or near the top for impact and achievements made on the national stage.
