They were detained outside hotel icon on Science Museum road. The universitys been the scene of intense clashes between Anti Government protesters and police throughout the weekend. At 5 30am local time, the police advanced into the huge campus. Protesters set fire to a barricade on the main entrance. Police used tear gas and water cannon. Our correspondent gabriel gatehouse witnessed events. The assault on the gap is has started about five minutes ago. We saw several dozen like clad Police Officers suddenly materialise out of nowhere and start storming the place. They were firing rubber bullets and tear gas, and in response the protesters only stole the petrol bombs they had, sometimes hurling hold boxes at a time which has caused two fires at the main entrances at the campus.
