U.S. Magistrate Judge Robert Trumble declared Diana Toebbe a flight risk in West Virginia federal court on Thursday and ruled that she must stay behind bars as an espionage trial progresses

Jonathan and Diana Toebbe, both of Annapolis, Maryland, were indicted on Tuesday by a Grand Jury in Elkins, West Virginia, on national security charges, the Justice Department said.

Jonathan Toebbe, a Navy nuclear engineer, and his wife, Diana, were arrested on espionage charges. The couple pleaded not guilty in federal court in West Virginia. They face life in prison if convicted.

Written communications between Jonathan Toebbe and an undercover FBI agent posing as a foreign spy show that he collected secret data over the years. Toebbe also planned to be extracted from the US.
