Outdoor classroom
After months of planning, the Jackson Hole Children’s Museum has broken ground on its new outdoor classroom.
Museum Executive Director Ethan Lobdell said the over 700-square-foot addition is necessary to accommodate ever-increasing demand for the nonprofit’s summer programs. There are over 75 families on the waitlist for 2021 Summer Camps, museum press material states.
The project was funded by Lynn and Foster Friess and will include a new custom-built tool shed from GrowHuts of Victor, Idaho.
“Our new outdoor classroom is critical to serving Teton County families through Summer Camps, Afterschool, and STEAM workshops — programming that is essential to our community,’ Lobdell said.

When finished, The Underline will provide a 22-mile loop for biking, walking, and jogging. According to
Fast Company, it's expected to take 5% of traffic off the local roads and to create a safer environment for pedestrians and cyclists. And those pedestrians and cyclists won't need a car to get to The Underline, either.

Miami's Coolest New Hangout Spot Is Under the Metrorail Train Tracks

Hanging out underneath train tracks likely isn’t your idea of a pleasant afternoon. But in the case of Miami's new Underline—a 10-mile, 120-acre park and urban trail—it’s about to become
the place to be. The first phase of the project, a half-mile stretch known as “Brickell Backyard,” is now open to the public after seven years of planning and construction.
Set directly below the above-ground Miami Metrorail system, The Underline is a testament to the power of creative urban development. It will serve up outdoor recreation for visitors and locals; it will showcase public art; and perhaps most unexpectedly—yet apt, given its location—it will offer a transportation benefit, too. “A lot of people don’t think about this as a transportation solution, but connecting walking, biking, jogging, and more to transit is probably the lowest hanging fruit for reducing our obedience to the car,” says Meg Daly, CEO and President of Friends of The Underline, the non-profit organization that has overseen the project.

Miami's New Underline Park Carves a Leafy Pathway Through the Heart of the City

Miami’s New Underline Park Carves a Leafy Pathway Through the Heart of the City
A barren space beneath Miami’s Metrorail tracks has been transformed into a lush landscape for relaxation and recreation.
After years of anticipation and fundraising, the first phase of the Underline in Miami officially opens today. Dubbed Brickell Backyard, the $16.5-million, half-mile project is the first section in what will eventually be a 10-mile-long linear park with 120 acres of open space.
Located in one of the densest areas of Miami-Dade County, Brickell Backyard faced "complicated construction conditions," says Irene Hegedus, Underline project manager at the Miami-Dade County Department of Transportation and Public Works. In addition to accommodating all transit lines with traffic improvements, the seven-block section required the installation of electrical lines and soil remediation—two of the biggest cost contributors—as part of its transformation into a safe, open public space.
