The federal government has awarded $110 million to the North Carolina Department of Transportation for a bridge replacement project in Plymouth and Manteo.
The money will go toward replacing 11 bridges, four miles of track and almost two miles of retaining walls along a certain stretch.
It will improve access to locations including Mobile, Gulfport, New Orleans, Baton Rouge and Houston.
The U.S. Department of Transportation awarded $1.2 billion in Mega Grants, including $85 million for reconstruction of Tulsa's I-44/U.S. 75 corridor.
