Cars and motorbikes were driving the wrong way through the one-way section that continued to allow turns from Cambridge Ave into York St, or were using the footpath or crossing the grass. At the same time, vehicles turning into York St were frequently travelling faster than the 50kph speed limit. Michael Retter, 72, who lives on the corner of York St and Cambridge Ave, has been trying to turn away motorists from driving the wrong way or cutting across reserve land, and recording those not adhering to the new layout. He has provided pictures to police. Signs signalled to drivers the road was no exit and not suitable for trucks, but Retter said he had seen B-Trains, cars and motorbikes all exiting the entry at all times of the day.
