Tyler mathisen. After a strong 2015 for stocks began with a whimper after ended first trading day of the year. Mixed and little change. After an early rally was wiped out by data showing in manufacturing and construction. First closing bell of the year with dow up triple digits on the opening but ended about 10 points higher when all was said and done. Nasdaq down by 9 poibts and s p lower by a fraction of a point, First Time Since 2008 the s p 500 fell on the first day of the new year and the last day of the prior year.
