Joins us live from lawrence with new information. Reporter thats right. It is a parents worst nightmare. A child snatched off the sidewalk, dragged away, sexually assaulted repeatedly. The good news is that child is recovering and safe tonight. More good news, the man is behind bars tonight. Police say a 13yearold was taken on the way to school this morning, trying toak Lawrence East middle school shortly after 7 00. The child was repeatedly assaulted for about two hours before finally being released. The victim then made it to school, contacted their mother, who in turn contacted police. The victim luckily was able to give a very detailed description of the assailant. Police later arrested probation with an ankle bracelet. He was arrested a short time later. I think to be safe, and with an abundance of cotton caution, i will ask Police Departments to review the list of ankle bracelets and review what level of threats there are.
