Colombo, June 30 (DailyMirror) – The medical experts have warned that the Indian variant known as Delta would be the dominant variant in the country in about ten weeks if proper measures were not taken at correct time.
State Minister Sudarshini Fernandopulle told media today that medical experts like Prof Neelika Malavige had emphasized that the Indian variant could be dominant in Sri Lanka in another ten weeks.
Thus, it is extremely important to strictly adhere to health guidelines and practices in order to prevent such a situation in the country,” the State Minister said. ....

When a COVID patient is admitted to an Ayurvedic Hospital, he/she has the freedom to choose the treatment he/she receives is Ayurvedic or Western, State Minister of Primary Health Care, Epidemics and COVID Disease Control Minister Sudarshani Fernandopulle said.
She said this during a meeting held to finalise the decision to use Ayurvedic hospitals in the country as Intermediate Care Centres to treat COVID patients.
The discussion held with the participation of Indigenous Medicine Promotion, Rural and Ayurvedic Hospitals Development and Community Health State Minister Sisira Jayakody, Director General of Health Services Dr. Asela Gunawardena, Ayurvedic doctors and other relevant officials today. ....
