Veteran actor, Kayode Olaiya, popularly known as Aderupoko, says that having tribal marks is not shameful, but is rather an advantage to his acting career.
In an interview with Saturday Beats, Aderupoko said, “There is nothing I can do about my tribal marks. I was born with them. Whatever I possess, I try to use it to my advantage. There are some actors that act like they are disabled or have adopted some traits just to stand out.  Having tribal marks is not shameful, because God created everyone well. What causes depression for some people is if they are turned down because of a physical feature. On the other hand, some companies use me for their adverts to depict a Yoruba man because of my tribal marks.”

Women without income will suffer in marriage –Omotola Jalade- Ekeinde

Veteran actress, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, is of the opinion that any lady who does not have a source of livelihood should not consider marriage because she is automatically preparing herself to be imprisoned in the union.
During an interview with
BBC Yoruba, the actress was asked if she would allow any of her children to marry at the age of 18 like she did, to which she answered, “I was at the age of consent when I got married and above all, I was mature when I met my husband. Currently, I have only one child that is 18 years old, so the question is late. He is a boy and peradventure, he says he wants to get married, I will not allow it because he does not have his own money now. One must apply wisdom or common sense in everything one does. People cannot say that because I married at 18, therefore they can also do it. The question is, ‘are you ready for marriage’? When I was at that age, I was ready. I had been working since I was 15-years-old and I had become a millionaire at the age of 18. That is a fact that a lot of people don’t know.

Easter is time to bless, help others — Funke Felix-Adejumo
Reverend Funke Felix-Adejumo is an author, marriage counsellor and humanitarian. She is also the president of the Funke Felix-Adejumo Foundation
What
would you say is the essence of Easter?
I believe that Easter is the most important part of Christianity because if Jesus had not resurrected, there would be no Easter. In my family, we celebrate Easter more than we celebrate Christmas. It is also a time where I and my family and foundation cater for the poor. I minister to lepers, the underprivileged and widows. I have been doing this for about 16 years. Easter is a period to remind us that we should help and bless others. It is a period that stresses that we need to be more grateful.

Gospel singer, Janet Oduwoye, has said that gospel artistes should desist from showering praises on human beings in their songs. She also said there was nothing wrong with gospels singers dressing flamboyantly.
In an interview with
Sunday Scoop, she said, “I believe there is nothing bad in dressing flamboyantly because the way one dresses is the way one would be addressed. However, what one wears must be in accordance with the life of Christ and the gospel. It must not deviate from that.
“I also think that gospel artists should avoid singing seasonal songs. Their songs should remain evergreen for generations to come. Also, artistes should not mix secular and gospel songs. Gospel songs should be such that they would give people true salvation and repentance. Gospel singers should also desist from praise domination. It is not right to shower praises on human beings in their albums, except when they are invited for special events. God should be placed first and all glory should be given to Him alone.”

I love being underestimated – Wizkid

One of Africa’s biggest artistes, Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, has stated that he loves to prove himself when people underestimate him.
He revealed this during an Instagram Live session with the Tony Elumelu Foundation during the week. He said, “Some of the tough lessons that have shaped me to be the entrepreneur I am today is never to take (no) for an answer. When I started, I was probably the youngest person making music in Nigeria. And everywhere I went, I was the youngest person in the room. I learnt not to accept ‘no’ for an answer and that has helped shape me into the man I am now. When I think about anything, I go for it. Of course, I have mentors such as Mr Tony Elemelu (Big Daddy), and I think everybody knows that.
