a very smart, beautiful and well behaved young girl. the hit-and-run happened in the 2500 block of east 79th street just after 6:00 last night. police say the girl was crossing 79th going north when a white 93 chevy van going east struck her. the van dragged her several feet before stopping. when a crowd grand to approach the van, the driver got nervous and took off. witnesses were able to get a license plate number. police tracked that plate to 18 and kedzie where they waited for the driver to come home. he did show up early this morning and was arrested and brought here to area 4 w...
