Teton County has passed a resolution affirming the “values of diversity, equity and inclusion” and declaring the county as a whole a “hate free zone.” “This is a very important statement of our ideals and our values,” Commissioner Mark Newcomb said during the Teton County Board of County Commissioners’ meeting Tuesday. “It is a statement, it is a first step, and I look forward to continuing to follow through both in action, word and deed.” The resolution came about after members of the public showed up at a December town and county meeting to raise...

Some saw that as a problem. “It felt like it took an awful long time and somewhat circuitous route to get here,” Commissioner Mark Newcomb said of the discussion about improving the survey’s low scores. The News&Guide reported on the survey in October, and County Administrator A...

Teton County saw another COVID-19 death in January, bringing the total since the pandemic started to seven, according to state health data released Tuesday. Infections in the valley remain high, keeping the community in the critical risk category and keeping health care providers busy helping patients navigate the virus. The Wyoming Department of Health reported 28 more deaths statewide due to complications from the coronavirus, bringing the total to 624. That included the Teton County death, which was described as an older man. “He was hospitalized both within and outside of Wyoming,âÂ...
