A Cumberland County native has been named the next commander of the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, Gov. Roy Cooper announced Wednesday.  Maj. Freddy L. Johnson Jr. was raised in Fayetteville and is a Fayetteville State University alumnus, the release said.
