The National Association of Software and Service Companies (Nasscom) expects the industry's revenue to grow 3.8% to $253.9 billion, compared with the previous fiscal year's 8.4%. The expansion this year will likely be driven by lower- to mid-single-digit contributions from all segments, including information technology, business process management, software products, engineering research and development, Nasscom said. Software exports, comprising services and sale of products to clients, fell 3.3% to $199 billion as opposed to a 11.4% growth in the previous year.
British regulators need an "ambitious growth mindset" to implement post-Brexit financial sector reforms faster and stop business going elsewhere, an industry body said on Thursday. Britain's "Edinburgh Reforms" - proposed by finance minister Jeremy Hunt over a year ago - aim to help London to remain a globally competitive financial centre after being largely cut off from the European Union, which this week approved a law to force a shift in euro clearing from London to the bloc. New York is also attracting companies from Britain to list there.

Paper Imports: India's imports of paper and paperboard surged by 39 per cent at 409,000 tonnes in the first quarter of 2023-24 against 294,000 tonnes in the year-ago quarter, according to an industry body. In value terms, imports rose by 28 per cent to Rs 3,153 crore in the first quarter of FY2023-24 compared to the year-ago period.
