FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – Longsjo Middle School s (Fitchburg, Mass.) Becky Colo has been named the Patriots Hall of Fame presented by Raytheon Technologies Massachusetts STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) Teacher of the Year. Patriots Chairman and CEO Robert Kraft announced Colo as the STEM Teacher of the Year today, and her school will receive $5,000 to be used for STEM education. Colo will also serve for one year on the governor s STEM Council.
Congratulations to Becky Colo, Kraft said in his announcement. She is doing outstanding work to inspire our next generation of STEM professionals. Congratulations to all the nominees and the other four finalists. ....

UPTON Izabella DeLorey was an outgoing, compassionate teenager, and a gifted artist, who wanted to study forensic science in college.
“She was kind and caring, and she had a contagious laugh,” said Jaiden Miller, a friend. “If she started laughing at something, no matter how stupid it was, everyone around her would start laughing, too.”
In 2018, during her freshman year at Nipmuc Regional High School, the 15-year-old took her own life.
“It’s going on three years, but it doesn’t get all of a sudden OK,” said DeLorey’s mother, Alizabeth Bouvier. “Six out of seven nights a week, I still cry myself to sleep. It does not get any easier at all, it doesn’t.” ....

Sutton Firefighters receive COVID-19 vaccine

SUTTON Some members of the Sutton Fire Department received vaccinations for COVID-19 during clinics at Nipmuc Regional High School in Upton Tuesday, Jan. 12, and Saturday, Jan. 16.
As thousands of first responders across the state begin receiving the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine this week, Millbury and Sutton first responders are among those voluntarily receiving a shot in the arm.
There are 60 sites across the state where the shots will be administered.
Sutton Fire Chief Matthew R. Belsito said getting vaccinated is “up to the individual.
