Uniindia: Hyderabad, Nov 23 (UNI) A grandson of the last Nizam Nawab Mir Osman Ali Khan, Nawab Najaf Ali Khan has approached the City Civil Court challenging the sole ownership claim of Mukarram Jah of the five royal palaces - Falaknuma Palace, King Kothi palace/ Nazri Bagh, ChowMahalla palace, Purani Haveli (all in Hyderabad) and Harewood and Cedars Bunglow in Ooty (Tamil Naidu).

Nizamabad: This is a bitter story of the eight-decade-old Nizam Sugar Factory also known as the Nizam Deccan Sugars Limited (NDSL). Once the second-largest sugar factory in Asia, the factory was shut in 2015 and its revival seems difficult now. The seventh Nizam of Hyderabad had started the factory in 1937 to save money on the imports of sugar. Families of several workers are now in serious financial hardship due to the factory’s closure, as they haven’t received their salaries since five years.

Hyderabad, January 24: Former Minister & ex-Leader of Opposition in Telangana Legislative Council Mohammed Ali Shabbir has strongly condemned the arrest of activists of various organisations and individuals who tried to visit the Secretariat to offer prayers at the two mosques, Masjid-e-Hashmi and Masjid-e-Dafatir Mohammedia, which were illegally demolished by TRS Government in July last year.

Shabbir Ali, in a media statement on Sunday, said that the Joint Action Committee of various Muslim organisations had given a call for
'Chalo Secretariat' to offer prayers at the same place where two mosques existed in the Secretariat till they were demolished by TRS Govt on the intervening night of 7th-8th July, 2020. He said that the demand for resuming prayers at the Secretariat mosques' sites was fully justified as Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao has illegally demolished them to facilitate construction of a new Secretariat complex. He said that CM KCR has also demolished an old temple in the Secretariat premises.

Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], 14 January (ANI): Family members of the last Nizam of Hyderabad Mir Osman Ali Khan have written to Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharam urging her to resolve the Nizam Jewellery Trust income and wealth tax issue which has been pending with the Income Tax department for the last 26 years.
Najaf Ali Khan, grandson of the last Nizam urged for a one-time settlement of the issue stating that 39 of the 114 beneficiaries from the Nizam Family had either expired during this period and most of those remaining were senior citizens facing health and financial issues.
In the 1950s, the last Nizam had created various Trusts, one of which was the Nizam Jewellery Trust. The Trustees, which included Prince Muffakham Jah and a government nominated official from the Finance Ministry, were empowered to sell the jewellery.
