Im Christine Christine rendon. 5 city worker has been killed by a garbage truck driven by another worker. It happened in the Bayview District after 9 00 a. M. Were getting this video in from the scene. Officials say the public works crew was clearing up materials this morning. Somehow, the garbage truck hit and killed another worker. The circumstances are still not clear. This is an extremely tragic accident. Everybody sends condolences to the victims family. Were still getting information on who that person was. Something we never want to have happen in the city. You go to work. You want people to go home, healthy and people are shaken up in the department. The city says the truck driver was a temporary employee who had been on the job only four weeks. Investigations are underway. Were continuing to gather details. Well have an update tonight at 5 00.
