After INS Jalashwa Monday arrived in Vishakhapatnam with the largest oxygen consignment from Singapore and Brunei under the ongoing Operation Samudra Setu II, ship's Commanding Officer Captain Pankaj Chauhan spoke exclusively to Republic Media Network. As per the Indian Navy, INS Jalashwa has brought 300 metric tonnes of oxygen and more than 3,600 oxygen cylinders, ventilators and other critical medical equipment.

Jeddah: Amidst a tsunami of demand for medical oxygen, equipment, and medicines as India battles a deadly second wave of COVID-19, several Arab countries offer the assistance.
The Indian Ambassadors in the region have been playing a key role in scouting and acquiring medical oxygen, equipment, and medicine that hour of need in back home India.
Indian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Dr. Ausaf Sayeed, a Hyderabadi and only senior diplomat in the region, was the first among abroad who successfully pursued a leading Saudi medical oxygen manufacturer to supply not only the liquid medical oxygen to India but also crucial cryogenic tankers.

COVID-19: Indian Naval Ship Brings Oxygen to Mumbai from Qatar
Amid the ongoing battle against COVID-19, Indian Naval Ship Tarkash brought two containers with 20 MT liquid medical oxygen each and 230 oxygen cylinders here from Qatar on Wednesday, a Navy spokesperson said. The Indian Navy has deployed its various ships to bring oxygen and other medical equipment to the country under operation ’Samudra Setu II’.
The oxygen containers were facilitated as part of the French mission ’Oxygen Solidarity Bridge’ and the cylinders of the life-saving gas were gifted by the Indian diaspora in Qatar, the spokesperson said. The consignment was handed over to Maharashtra’s civil administration for further necessary action, the Navy said.
