Man bags 3 months imprisonment for stealing hair booster cream, two sardines

For admitting to stealing hair booster cream, and oil, one Yusuf Kolawole, 30, was on Tuesday sentenced to three months imprisonment or community service.
He also admitted to stealing two tins of Titus fish at Justrite inside Osun Mall.
He was convicted by Magistrate Abayomi Ajala of Osogbo Magistrates’ Court having pleaded guilty to the one count of stealing levelled against him.
The charge sheet presented before the court by the Police prosecutor, Inspector Olayiwola Rasaq had alleged that Yusuf at about 7:15 pm on Sunday, March 14, 2021, at Osun Mall, Osogbo stole two tins of Titus sardine, a hair booster cream and castor oil valued N2,630.

The Osun State Panel of Inquiry investigating Police brutality and extra-judicial killing has summoned two officers of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps(NSCDC) over alleged involvement in a car chase that led to the death of one Idris Ajibola.
Idris was to have died during the chase by men of the Osun State Joint Task Force while returning from Osun Mall with two friends in a car on September 15, 2020.
According to Adedayo Adeleke, one of the survival of the accident had told the panel that the patrol vehicle of JTF chased them to the point they had an accident that resulted in the death of Idris.

DAILY POST observed that the Osun Mall was the busiest among as a crowd of fun seekers gathered at the shops and restaurants located within it very early in violation of COVID-19 guidelines.

EndSARS: Police insist no protest held in Osun - Daily Post Nigeria

The Osun State Command of the Nigerian Police has denied news that EndSARS protest was held in the State, particularly in Osogbo.
The command, which spoke through its Police Public Relations Officer, SP Yemisi Opalola said the Commissioner of Police had on Friday night mobilised police personnel to all strategic and flash points within the State.
She also disclosed that it was while the Commissioner of Police was out for morning patrol that they encountered a church which was having an outdoor programme earlier planned for today.
The PPRO noted that the CP advised them to adhere the COVID-19 guidelines and avoid crowd congestion.

The family of Idris Ajibola, a 21-year-old man chased to his death by police officers attached to Osun Joint Task Force in Osogbo last year, has demanded N5 billion as compensation.
The mother of the deceased, Titilayo Ajibola, made the demand while appearing before the state judicial panel of inquiry investigating police brutality and extrajudicial killings on Saturday.
Mrs Ajibola said the panel should assist her in getting justice for the deceased.
PREMIUM TIMES on September 15, 2020, reported how the JTF in Osogbo suspected the deceased, an apprentice in aluminium fabrication, of being an internet fraudster while returning from Osun Mall in Osogbo where he had gone to buy bread with his friends.
