A Missouri state lawmaker indicted on federal fraud charges for falsely promoting a treatment as having stem cells to help with COVID-19 and other illnesses has been asked to resign. House Speaker Rob Vescovo on Wednesday said fellow Republican Rep. Tricia Derges should step down after a federal grand jury indicted the Nixa legislator on fraud charges. He removed her from all her committee assignments Monday, when the indictment against her was unsealed.
Derges allegedly falsely promoted a treatment she was selling at medical clinics as containing stem cells that could treat various diseases, including COVID-19. ....

A Missouri state representative and assistant physician are allegedly running a fraud scheme of fake stem cell use in administering treatments including covid-19 were charged in a 20-count indictment.
Prosecutors in Missouri s Western District say that Patricia Tricia Ashton Derges referred to her falsely marketed fake stem cell therapy as an amazing treatment that stands to provide a potential cure to Covid-19 patients that is safe and natural. Patricia runs three Ozark Valley Medical Clinic sites. 
As stated on the grand jury indictment unsealed Monday, Patricia Ashton Derges, 63, reportedly offered so-called regenerative care to clients who came to the Ozark Valley Medical Clinic searching for help for different diseases. ....

The United States continues to expand its coronavirus vaccination campaign as new and more infectious virus variants spread across the country. On Tuesday, the White House said states will receive an additional 10.5 million doses over the next three weeks. And Pfizer announced plans to deliver 200 million doses of its vaccine by May, earlier than its initial forecast of July.

A Missouri state representative was charged in a 20-count indictment that alleged she fraudulently administered treatments, including for Covid-19, that falsely claimed to have stem cells.
Patricia Ashton Derges, 63, allegedly gave so-called “regenerative” treatments to clients who came to the Ozark Valley Medical Clinic looking for treatment for various illnesses, according to a grand jury indictment unsealed Monday.
The clinic offered its patients amniotic fluid that claimed to have stem cells, but in fact was acellular, without stem cells.
After Derges made false claims on a Springfield television station in April that stem cells could treat Covid-19, an investigation was launched, the FBI said in a statement on Monday. ....
