YESTERDAY, GOVERNOR NEWSOM AND LEGISLATIVE LEADERS ANNOUNCED A $6.6 BILLION PLAN THAT WOULD PROVIDE FINANCIAL INCENTIVE FOR SCHOOLS TO REOPEN BY THE END OF MARCH. A FLOOR VOTE ON THE BILL IS EXPECTED THURSDAY. DEIRDRE: THIS MORNING, SACRAMENTO MAYOR DARRELL STEINBERG AND CITY COUNCIL MEMBER MAI VANG WILL ANNOUNCE A RESOLUTION TO THE CITY THAT CONDEMNS ANTI-ASIAN HATE. THIS FOLLOWS A SERIES OF RECENT ANTI-ASIAN THREATS AND ATTACKS, INCLUDING A PERSON LEAVING A MUTILATED CAT OUTSIDE AN ASIAN-OWNED BUTCHER SHOP. THE RESOLUTION ALSO CALLS FOR THE CITY AND COMMUNITY TO PLEDGE TO FIGHT RACISM. LET’S GET A CHECK OF YOUR TUESDAY FORECAST WITH MELANIE HUNTER.
