Sprocket Mural Works completes 15th mural project in midtown Harrisburg

A 3-story mural titled 'We Are All Connected by Rope Bridges,' created by artist Tara Chickey, is located at the Carpets and Draperies building on 1507 N. Third St.

Parliament bringing Box Lunch Revue, other events, back to York City


“I am very excited for the sounds of the Box Lunch Revue to once again fill the air of York City,” Mayor Michael Helfrich said. “I am really looking forward to the return of York’s traditional arts event and market, YorkFest, an event I haven’t missed for 20 years.”
Parliament will be offering a variety of events throughout the year, including King Street Jam (York’s largest one day music festival), Light Up York and the New Year’s Eve white rose drop.
The group is partnering with Creative York, which is hosting the YorkFest adult juried and youth art exhibitions. For information about submitting artwork, visit www.creativeyork.org.

RECOUNTING by David Nice Announced as Winner Of York College New Play Contest

York College of Pennsylvania's Theatre Program has announced the winning full-length play for the inaugural year of the JL Smith New Play Festival. Lancaster resident David Nice's play Recounting was selected by a panel of professional theatre artists from the many plays submitted. A staged reading of the play will be directed by York resident Cal Weary and presented live on Friday, May 7 at 7 p.m. on Zoom.
