In the tributes rolling in from friends, colleagues and those she covered during her decades-long career, certain threads stand out. Eastman was remembered fondly for being a mentor to young reporters, generously sharing information and Cape Cod history. She was known for her tact and honesty, her balanced reporting and her objectivity. And people recalled the care with which she tendered her relationships.
