Im michael holmes, cnn newsroom starts right now. Well, the coronavirus appears to be tapering off in china, at least for now. The new cases are surging elsewhere, all around the world. Nearly 21,000 infections now confirmed outside of china. A third of those in south korea. The country has just reported 270 new cases. Here you can see long lines of people waiting to buy face masks. Around the world, well over 100,000 people are infected. Nearly 3500 of them have died. Off the california coast, at least 21 people aboard the grand presenincess cruise shi tested positive.
