Missoula County - Phase 1 B Plus Vaccinations Begin on March 15


Adriane Beck, Director of the Missoula County Office of Emergency Management has details.
“We are happy to announce that Missoula County will be transitioning into the new Phase  1 B plus on Monday, March 15,” said Beck. “This will increase eligible residents’ availability to receive a vaccine as we transition into a new phase. All the preceding phases and the eligibility criteria and residents who meet those previous phases are still eligible to register for vaccine appointments, but as we continue to churn through our population, we'll continue to add more phases to add more people who are eligible.”

Smokers Now Eligible for COVID Vaccine in Illinois Under Phase 1B Plus
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports that "being a current or former cigarette smoker increases your risk of severe illness from COVID-19"

Smoking is on the list of high-risk medical conditions and comorbidities that make someone eligible for the coronavirus vaccine under Illinois' Phase 1B plus.
According to the Illinois Department of Public Health, smoking is considered an "eligible condition" under the phase alongside other conditions like cancer, diabetes, obesity, pregnancy and more.

How to Sign Up for COVID Vaccine Appointments in Illinois

The state announced on March 26 that it is sending "Rapid Response Vaccination Teams" to five counties where epidemiologists "have determined there is a need to administer doses quickly to blunt increasing trends," IDPH said. Those teams will administer single-shot Johnson & Johnson vaccinations to residents on top of what the counties are already allocated.
The counties are: Carroll, Ogle, Boone, Lee and Whiteside. Details on doses and how to make an appointment can be found here.
Plus, following an announcement from the state, a number of Illinois counties are now offering vaccinations to any state resident 16 and older. Here's a full list.
