Journalist Tania Branigan wins the richest award in nonfiction, the Cundill History Prize, for her study of China's Cultural Revolution.
Branigan won the $75,000 (U.S.) prize for her book Red Memory: Living, Remembering and Forgetting China's Cultural Revolution.
From its eight-title shortlist, the Cundill History Prize has put forward three finalists, the winner to be named on Thursday (November 8).
