A wrongful death lawsuit filed by the family of a former employee who died after contracting the virus at the plant alleged that Plant Manager Tom Hart organized a cash buy in, winner-take-all, betting pool for supervisors and managers. It also claims Tyson Foods is guilty of a “willful and wanton disregard for workplace safety.” In a release sent to KWWL, Tyson says they plan to open more communication channels to hear the voices of team members, create a working group of local community leaders to strengthen collaboration, and reinforce the importance of Tyson Foods’ core values and team behaviors.
